How to clean your waterproof timberen floor?

Weekly cleaning: dry

For regular care, simply use a vacuum cleaner or a dry Quick-Step mop once a week. The special fibers of our mop are designed to capture dirt with ease

Monthly cleaning: slightly damp

  1. Start by vacuuming or mopping your floor thoroughly. For the best results, ensure your vacuum has soft wheels and a specialized parquet brush.

  2. Next, fill the bottle of your Quick-Step Cleaning Kit with water and Quick-Step Floor Cleaner. Then, fill a bucket with clean water to rinse your mop.
    • Residential cleaning: approximately 1 teaspoon of Quick-Step Floor cleaner
    • Intensive cleaning of persistent dirty floors: approximately 3 teaspoons of Quick-Step Floor cleaner

  3. Finally, start mopping. Rinse your mop in the bucket of clean water and continue mopping. Allow your floor to airdry.

Specific instructions for lacquered and oiled timber floors

Lacquered and oiled timber floors are maintained similarly to waterproof floors, but there are a few key differences to note:

  • We advise a more thorough cleaning once or twice a month with a slightly damp microfiber mop. Be careful not to use too much water, as excess moisture can damage the floor.
  • The cleaning product dosage differs slightly from the dosage for waterproof floors.
    • lacquered timberen floor, residential cleaning: approximately 1 teaspoon of Quick-Step Floor cleaner
    • lacquered timberen floor, intensive cleaning of persistent dirty floors: approximately 3 teaspoons of Quick-Step Floor cleaner
    • Oiled timber floor: approximately 3 teaspoons of Quick-Step Oiled Parquet cleaner
  • Mopping process (for oiled floors): Regularly rinse your mop in the separate rinse bucket, before again soaking it in the soapy water. Do not rinse the floor with clean water, let it airdry and wait until the floor is dry to walk on it.
  • For oiled timber floors, we recommend re-oiling your floor annually. Read the instructions in the FAQ or download the maintenance instructions.
